FROM ONE MAN WITH A SEWING MACHINE, TO A THRIVING FAMILY BUSINESS
This is our story:
In 1993, Darren Hutchinson hired a bouncy castle for his daughter’s birthday. Disappointed with the quality, he thought, “I could do better than this.” With no background in manufacturing and zero experience using a sewing machine, he set out to reverse engineer the castle himself.
After more than a year of trial and error in his garden workshop, Darren successfully built his own bouncy castle. He began selling them to hire companies across the UK—and did so for the next 20 years.
In 2013, Darren started experimenting with new products online. One of the first was a simple clear PVC cover for a rabbit hutch—designed to keep pets warm during winter. A customer who purchased one of these covers also owned a garage and phoned Darren with an unusual request: a much larger version to help control dust and regulate the temperature in his workshop.
And just like that, the next chapter began.
By day, Darren took orders over the phone. By night, he stitched custom curtains in his backyard shed. A few years into this new venture, his son Luke returned from university and offered to help with social media.
Luke, already a budding entrepreneur with several businesses under his belt, quickly saw the potential. He went all in—partnering with Darren to turn the side hustle into a serious business.
He took the reins and accelerated growth, building a team and moving production into proper business premises in 2020.
From 2020 to 2024, the company grew by over 50% each year. As demand increased, so did ambition—taking on larger contracts and refining the product range to meet new needs and higher standards.
In 2024, Darren’s daughter Natalie Hutchinson joined the team as Head of Operations, transforming internal systems and scaling our installation team with her partner, Dale.
Later that year, Luke’s partner Chanel came on board as Head of Marketing. But it wasn’t long before her natural talent for connecting with customers made her our top-performing salesperson.
In 2025, Natalie led a major milestone—relocating the business to a larger, state-of-the-art facility where our growing team now crafts high-performance sliding curtains, partition walls, and retractable spray booths.
